One evening an old Cherokee told his grandson about a debate that goes on inside people. He said,”My son, the battle between two wolves is inside us all. One is Evil. It is anger, envy, jealousy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego.
The other is Good. It is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion, and faith.
The grandson thought about this for a minute and then asked his grandfather: “Which wolf wins?”
The old Cherokee simply replied, “The one you feed.”
Sidenote: Is this not self-explanatory? Life is so much easier and better when we do good in this crazy world in which we live. Why go through life angry at others or jealous of what someone else has? Why not go out in the world and create your own happiness? Why not embark on a journey to get your own? Are you not unique? Why would you want to be a direct copy of someone else?
Create your own destiny and follow your own path. Be a leader, not a follower. Be a doer! Feed the Good and let the Evil die a quick death. Watch and see how your life, your whole world, your mentality, changes.
